Best Olive Oil Makeup Remover Tips You Will Read This Year!

Yes, you heard right, olive oil.

How much money do you spend on eye make-up remover or for your natural hair?  Chances are, more than you should.  Stop wasting your hard-earned cash and start using extra virgin olive oil instead. You will be delighted with how well it removes even the darkest eye make-up and keep your face soft and smooth.

Mom shares amazing Olive Oil MakeUp Remover benefits

All you have to do is pour a small amount of extra virgin olive oil onto a cotton ball and wipe off the makeup.  I highly recommend using organic cotton balls, especially on such delicate skin as under your eye. No chemicals are used in making the cotton, it’s ultra gentle for skin.  Not only does it remove eye make-up swiftly and easily, olive oil leaves the tender skin under your eyes, feeling and looking super soft.

The most amazing and coolest benefit of using  Olive Oil MakeUp Remover is that it’s cost effective and also  the simple fact that olive oil does not contain the harsh chemicals that most eye makeup removers do.  Have you ever read the ingredient list on your favorite makeup remover?  The kind that I was using before was Neutrogena’s oil-free eye makeup remover.

Here is the list of ingredients:  Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Cyclohexasiloxape, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Dipropylene Glycol, Poloxamer 182, Allantoin, Tripotassium EDTA, Benzalkonium Chloride, Glycerin, Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) Fruit Extract, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate.

Way too many ingrediets that I can’t even pronounce.  I rather will stick with my pure and natural extra virgin olive oil.  Using olive oil makeup remover is a very cost effective idea as a little goes a very long way.

Recently, I came across a very interesting video by Michelle Phan on how she uses olive oil makeup remover.

I was intrigued for a couple of reasons:

I have very dry skin, and at night, after I wash my face I can’t seem to laugh like a normal person, I can’t even move a muscle from my face! It hurts and according to my husband it’s the most hilarious thing ever.

SO, I decided to try using olive oil makeup remover. The results? IT WORKED! I was strucked! No more rubbing, pulling, fighting with my eyelashes, spending almost ridiculous huge amount just for eye makeup remover, or skin dryness. My skin was so soft and silky, super hydrated, and best of all, I could laugh!

Of course, every time I try something absolutely new, all natural, good for you, AND inexpensive I share it.

I right away told my sisters and other moms. They both however told me the same thing, especially those of them that had issues with oily skin.

I did a little more digging on how to use olive oil as a makeup remover for all skin types. Feeling a little more enlightened I learned that oil attracts oil and that the olive oil will actually help control the oily skin and it won’t cause acne by clogging your pores. I told them that and they then tried it. The results? It worked!

Using olive oil makeup remover for oily skin actually kept the oil throughout the day controlled. They, just like me, were amazed at the wonderful results they got from using olive oil as their makeup remover. They both also felt silkier more nourished skin.

Of course there is truth to this since mother nature has it all figured out and olive oil has many properties such as:

  • Similar components to the natural oil of our skin.
  • Helps absorb vitamins A, D, and K easily.
  • Major antioxidant functions that help slow down aging.

Given these benefits, there is no question in my mind that I will keep using olive oil as makeup remover. In the words of my sister, “It’s awesome!”.

So what about you, would you try it? What are your thoughts? Please comment and feel free to share other uses for olive oil.
